What's in a Name?

Mark was born and spent the early part of his life in Northern Ireland, in the idyllic fishing village of Ardglass, Co Down.  The name Ardglass is an anglicisation of the Gaelic 'Ard Ghlais’, which means the green height.
The name stems from a period when the sea circled most of the town and it stood out against the marshes.  On top of the town is a conical hill known as The Ward.  This hill is artificial and there is little doubt that this mound was raised as a monument to a warrior, bard or chief in pre-history.
Ardglass has been a prominent fishing port for more than two thousand years and developed as such due to its location at a natural inlet on the east coast of Lecale.  Ardglass also has an internationally renowned golf course with the oldest building used as a golf clubhouse in the world (for the golfers among you).
Mark still has many family members in Ardglass and Northern Ireland; naming the company Green Heights was a natural choice.
